By using Commons, you agree to these guidelines. If you build a community on Commons, you're also responsible for ensuring your members understand and follow them.
Commons is built on real names and real identity. Don't create fake accounts, impersonate other people, or misrepresent who you are. Your name on Commons should be the name you'd introduce yourself with in real life.
Disagreement is fine. Disrespect is not. Commons is for real human connection — harassment, hate speech, and targeted abuse have no place here, regardless of who it's directed at.
Commons is for adults. We do not allow content that endangers children, promotes self-harm, or facilitates illegal activity. If you see something that puts someone at risk, report it immediately.
Communities are built on trust. Don't use Commons to spread misinformation, spam members, or run scams. Promotion is fine in the right context — predatory behavior is not.
Only share content you have the right to share. Don't post copyrighted material without permission, and don't use Commons to infringe on the intellectual property of others.
When you build a community on Commons, you take on responsibility for the space you create. That means setting clear expectations for your members, moderating your community actively, and removing content or members that violate these guidelines.
Commons may remove communities that consistently violate these guidelines or that are being used to harm others — even if the builder wasn't directly involved.
Serious violations — particularly anything involving child safety — will be acted on immediately and may be reported to relevant authorities.
